We were very satisfied with our Iceland trip. The bus ride was much more comfortable than driving, and we didn't have to worry about the itinerary. Our guide, Liu Rui, was enthusiastic and attentive, providing us with a wealth of additional information. When we had some free time, he even arranged three optional activities for us at a discounted price of just 60 euros (including bird watching, a red-domed church, a heart-shaped glacier, and a volcanic lake). I felt all the extras were worthwhile (including a glacier lagoon boat cruise to see seals, a three-hour trip to the Blue Lagoon, and a visit to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). It was a truly extraordinary experience. Iceland's scenery is unlike any other and is well worth seeing. In summer, you'll need a down jacket or thick windbreaker, as well as waterproof shoes and socks. Prices in Iceland are two to three times higher than in Germany. Food that costs 20 euros in a German supermarket would cost around 70 euros in Iceland. Breakfast is a European buffet at the hotel each day, and lunch and dinner are at your own expense. A restaurant meal for two adults and one child should cost at least 70-100 euros. Bring your credit card; it's accepted throughout Iceland, eliminating the need for currency exchange or cash (including bus tickets and public restrooms). Pay in Icelandic krona. Paying in euros will incur a 7-8% processing fee. We recommend arriving in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, two to three days in advance of the tour. You can enjoy whale watching (small boats allow you to see whales flying out of the water), the whale museum, a lava show, a hike through the volcanic caves, Icelandic horseback riding, and a helicopter ride over the dried lava crater. Book a front-row seat on the bus. If you're prone to motion sickness, spend at least three to five hours on the bus each day, frequently getting off to explore. Highly recommended, very satisfied!
