Black Forest National Park

Covering 10,000 hectares, Black Forest National Park in Baden-Württemberg boasts stunning views, with mountains rising from 310 meters to 1,400 meters at the Belchen Summit. The Schluchtensteig Trail leads you through the Wutach Gorge, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Black Forest, where you can admire cascading waterfalls. Certain areas of the park have been allowed to flourish without human interference for over a century, creating a pristine environment. This untouched wilderness is home to remarkable wildlife, including the world’s fastest bird, the peregrine falcon, and Europe’s smallest owl, the pygmy owl. Local residents uphold traditional practices such as Almabtrieb and the Alpine pasture harvest. You can explore the enchanting landscape by biking, hiking, or enjoying a rafting adventure.
