Day 1 London Windsor Castle Stonehenge Bath London
☆Gather at 8:00 am and depart on time at 8:15. Windsor Castle (ticket included) Historic Windsor Castle stands majestically on a wooded hill overlooking the River Thames. Dating back to Norman times, and with its expansive landscaped gardens and round towers, it's easy to see why it's the Queen's favourite weekend Royal Windsor residence. Enjoy a fascinating peek inside the lavish State Apartments, home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and visit St. George's Chapel, the final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII. You can visit Queen Mary's Doll's House, a truly incredible structure complete with working lifts, running water, electricity and wine bottles, all in miniature! Mysterious Stonehenge (ticket included) The true meaning of this ancient and awe-inspiring structure has been lost in the mists of time. Is Stonehenge a sun-worshiping temple, healing center, cemetery or giant calendar? How did our ancestors manage to transport gigantic stones from such a distance and then build this amazing structure using only the most primitive tools? Stonehenge, surrounded by mystery, is always impressive. Standing proudly on the slopes of the River Avon, beautiful Bath is England's first city to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gorgeous 15th-century Bath Abbey, stunning Georgian architecture, the romantic Pulteney Bridge modeled after Florence's Old Bridge, all these sights are worth remembering. This well-preserved bathing centre still uses water from the UK's only hot spring. Marvel at the dazzling torch lighting ceremony as dusk falls (not available in summer), and sip on the healing waters of Bath in the Pump Room, a neo-classical salon. ☆The estimated time to return to London is around 8:00 pm.
